Every property and Starlink project is different. This guide explains the practical factors considered during professional installation and helps you prepare informed questions before work begins.

One account can manage more than one Starlink

In supported regions, a customer may have several Starlink service lines under the same login. This is useful for a home, workshop, business, RV, second property, or another location that needs its own dish. Keeping the systems under one account can simplify access to billing, equipment information, support, and plan management.

Each dish remains a separate terminal with its own identifier and service line. Adding it to the same account does not combine the dishes into one physical system or make them share a single internet connection.

Each active dish needs a subscription

Every Starlink dish that is actively receiving service needs its own eligible subscription or service line. One Residential subscription cannot normally operate two separate dishes at the same time. If three dishes need to remain online, the account generally needs three active service lines and will be billed for each according to its selected plan.

A paused or cancelled service line does not provide normal active service simply because another dish on the account is paid. Plan availability, pause options, and limits can vary by region and service type, so the subscription shown for each terminal should be reviewed before relying on it.

Why the systems remain separate

Each dish connects to Starlink as its own terminal and may have a different service address, plan, hardware generation, network name, and usage pattern. Keeping those records separate allows one account to support very different installations without mixing their settings or support history.

This also means that changing the Wi-Fi name, rebooting hardware, or reviewing obstructions for one Starlink should not be assumed to change the others. Always confirm which terminal or service line is selected before making an account or network change.

Switching between Starlinks in the app

The Starlink app and account portal provide a selector for accounts, service lines, or terminals connected to the same user profile. Use that selector to choose the Starlink you want to view. The selected system's status, obstruction map, devices, speed test, plan, and settings can then be reviewed.

Starlink's interface can change over time, but the selection is generally available from the account or subscription area. Descriptive names such as Home, Workshop, RV, or Business make it easier to choose the correct system than relying only on terminal identifiers.

Account switching and terminal switching

A user profile may also have access to more than one Starlink account—for example, a personal account and a business account. In that situation, the account switcher first changes the account context. The user can then select the appropriate service line or terminal within that account.

This is different from transferring ownership or merging accounts. Starlink states that existing accounts cannot currently be merged or split through a simple account-management function.

Billing and support considerations

Invoices, plan changes, cancellation, pausing, and support requests should be checked against the correct service line. Cancelling the wrong line can take the wrong property offline, while changing one plan does not automatically update the plans for every other terminal.

Before contacting Support, note the affected dish name, service address, terminal identifier, and current plan. That prevents troubleshooting steps intended for one installation from being applied to another.

Plan the network as well as the account

Multiple Starlinks may be managed from one login, but their local Wi-Fi networks still need clear names, appropriate router placement, surge protection, and secure passwords. If two systems operate close together, overlapping Wi-Fi channels and similarly named networks can make device troubleshooting confusing.

A consistent naming system and written record of each dish, router, subscription, and location helps a multi-Starlink account remain easy to manage as it grows.
