Helpful information

Planning your installation

Every property is different. These answers cover the most common questions; contact Caleb directly for guidance specific to your project.

01What types of Starlink installations do you handle?

Mann’s Starlink Contracting installs residential, commercial, RV, and compatible marine systems. Each project is planned around the property, equipment, cable path, and intended use.

02Do I need to purchase my Starlink equipment before the appointment?

Tell Caleb which Starlink equipment and mount you already have. If you need a kit or mount supplied, include that in your message so it can be included in your personal quote.

03Can you install multiple Starlink systems at the same time?

Yes. If you need two or more Starlink systems installed at the same property or across multiple properties, Mann’s Starlink Contracting can coordinate the installations and offer a discounted rate for completing them together. Please remember that Starlink requires a separate subscription for each individual dish. Contact us with the number of systems and property locations for a customized multi-installation quote.

04How do you choose where to mount the dish?

The location is selected based on a clear view of the sky, safe access, mounting strength, cable-routing options, and the appearance of the finished installation. The proposed location and cable path are reviewed before drilling begins.

05What if I’m unsure whether Starlink will work at my property?

A professional site survey is available by personal quote. The property will be evaluated for sky visibility, possible obstructions, suitable mounting locations, and practical cable-routing options to help determine whether a reliable Starlink installation is feasible before you move forward.

06Can you route the cable through an exterior wall?

Yes. When appropriate for the structure, the cable can be routed through an exterior wall using a planned entry point, protective pass-through components, and careful weather sealing for a clean finished appearance.

07Can Starlink use the existing coaxial cable in my home?

No. Starlink is a Cat5e/Cat6-type data application and is not compatible with coaxial cable. Existing coax installed by cable companies or traditional satellite providers cannot be used for the Starlink connection, so the correct Starlink or Ethernet-compatible cable must be routed for the installation.

08Is router setup included?

Router setup and connection testing can be completed as part of the installation. The goal is to confirm that the system is online and working before the job is considered complete.

09Do you offer Starlink removal and relocation services?

Yes. Mann’s Starlink Contracting can remove an existing Starlink system when you are preparing to move to a new location. If you also want the system installed at the new property, removal and reinstallation can be completed together for one flat rate. Contact us with both locations and the installation details for scheduling and a flat-rate quote.

10Do you service older-generation Starlink systems?

No. Mann’s Starlink Contracting works exclusively with Generation 3 and newer Starlink systems. Generation 1 and Generation 2 equipment should be upgraded to Generation 3 or newer before installation or service to help ensure maximum performance and compatibility.

11Do you service Starlink systems damaged by weather or equipment that needs to be replaced?

Mann’s Starlink Contracting typically services weather-damaged or faulty Starlink systems only when the original installation was completed by Mann’s Starlink Contracting. A special exception may be considered depending on the request, equipment, location, and work required. To request an exception, contact Caleb directly by phone at 270-940-4866 or by email at contact@mannsinstalls.com with details about the damage or faulty equipment.

12What areas do you serve?

Service is available across Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Missouri, and Illinois. Customers generally must be within approximately six hours of the main location in Taylor County, Kentucky. Final travel availability depends on the exact location, project type, and scheduling.

13How much does an installation cost?

Installation is quoted individually based on the property, equipment, and work required. Send your ZIP code and a project message for a free estimate. Your full scope and quote are confirmed before scheduling.

14Will I be charged anything that was not included in my estimate?

No additional hardware or work is added without your approval. Property conditions can occasionally reveal requirements that were not visible beforehand, but Caleb will explain the options and confirm the price before continuing.

15Who will perform my installation?

When you schedule directly with Mann’s Starlink Contracting, owner and installer Caleb Mann handles your project review, communication, installation, and final testing. Your request is not sold through a national technician marketplace.

16What days are you available for installations?

Regular installation availability is Monday through Saturday, with Sundays off. If Sunday is the only day you can accommodate an installation, Sunday priority scheduling may be available for an additional fee, subject to appointment and travel availability.

17Do you offer emergency or priority installations?

Yes. If you need an installation completed immediately, emergency or priority scheduling may be available and will be prioritized based on travel and appointment availability. Caleb will confirm availability and the complete quote before you agree to priority work.

18Is Mann’s Starlink Contracting insured?

Yes. Mann’s Starlink Contracting is fully insured and maintains coverage for its installation work, giving customers added confidence when work is performed at their home, business, RV, or compatible marine location.

19How should I prepare for my appointment?

Have the Starlink kit on site, provide access to the installation area and router location, and make sure an adult authorized to approve the mounting location is present. If you are providing a compatible mount, have it available as well.
