The dish and Wi-Fi solve different problems
The Starlink dish connects your property to the satellite network. The router distributes that connection inside the building. A strong satellite connection does not guarantee strong Wi-Fi in every room.
When mesh equipment can help
Large square footage, several floors, long floor plans, detached areas, masonry, metal, dense framing, appliances, and utility rooms can weaken Wi-Fi. A mesh router extends coverage by creating another wireless point inside the home.

Placement matters
A mesh unit should not be placed in the dead zone it is expected to fix. It needs a dependable connection to the primary router while being closer to the area that needs service. Poor placement can make added equipment less effective.
The router sits on a cabinet in the living space. Use room-by-room testing to decide whether this location provides the coverage your household needs.

The primary router should be placed as centrally and openly as practical, away from large metal objects and enclosed cabinets. Thoughtful cable planning can sometimes produce a better router location and reduce the need for additional equipment.
Set realistic expectations
Mesh routers improve coverage; they do not remove obstructions from the dish, repair service interruptions, or guarantee a specific speed in every room. Complex properties may benefit from a more complete network plan.
